Step one: Prep the Brass

Once you find scrap brass you'll want to heat it up to soften the brass so you

can resize it. Its easy and only takes an oven.  Place dirty brass on a cookie sheet

and place into oven for a cleaning cycle. Check your oven manuel on how to self clean.

WARNING: Make sure no live rounds are placed into oven.

After brass is softened it needs to be cleaned. There are 3 options:

WARNING: Do not use corn media to clean brass.

It will leave resadue on brass and scrach dies.

I like to dry the brass in the oven on the lowest setting for 10 minutes.

Step two: Fill the case

You will need to make a core by using a core mold or cutting pieces from a roll of lead wire.

I prefer using a mold, you can make cores quikly vs cuting and getting diffrent weights. I  make custom molds to order.

Rifle cases:

Place core into case and press core into case.

Pistol cases:

Flair out case and place core into case.

Step three: Form the bullet

Place a lightly lubed bullet on to ram head and pull handle.

(Some adjustment of die to get the propper torque, you want to be able to pull the handel down completly

and work the die down till it forms the bullet. Once the sweet spot is found tighten nuts down,

no other adjustments should be need on future swaging.)

If you have the rapid release system you just have to return handel to start position and bullet will be pushed out of the die.

If you don't have rapid release system then tap the top of rod strait down using a rubber mallet.

Thats all there is to it!!

  • Sonic cleaner

  • Rock tumbler with Stainless Steel media

  • Place brass into a pot of boiling water with 1/4 cup of white vinagar for 15 minutes, then rinse brass with water.
